Hawks open conference play at Truman State

Jillian Myers ranks in the top 10 in the GLVC in three categories.
The Rockhurst Hawks (4-1) open conference Great Lakes Valley Conference play at Truman State (5-2) in a GLVC West Division matchup at 5:30 p.m. today in Kirksville, Missouri. The Bulldogs won their last meeting, 72-66, at Truman State on Jan. 24, 2015. Truman leads the all-time series, 11-4.

Junior guard Mary Dineen leads the Hawks in scoring (16.0 pg) and 3-point field goals made (2.6 pg). Dineen ranks sixth in scoring, fifth in 3-point field goals made (1.94), tied for 15th in free throw percentage (84.6) and 13th in 3-point field goal percentage (44.8) in the GLVC. Senior forward Lauren Meyers is tied for 24th in scoring (11.6) and tied for 10th in blocked shots (1.20) in the GLVC. Sophomore guard Jillian Myers is averaging 6.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 5.0 assists per game. Myers ranks first in steals, fifth in assists and second in assist/turnover ratio in the GLVC. Junior center Haleigh Cindrich is tied for fourth in blocked shots (1.80) in the GLVC.

Rockhurst ranks second in scoring defense (54.0 pg), third in free throw percentage (78.9), first in blocked shots (4.40), first in turnover margin, second in assist/turnover ratio and tied for second in 3-point field goals made (8.0) in the GLVC.

The Hawks are coming off a 50-49 loss at Lincoln last Saturday. Lauren Meyers led the Hawks with 12 points, four rebounds and two steals. Meyers connected on five-of-11 field goals. Mary Dineen posted 11 points on four-of-14 shooting. Jillian Myers posted a team-high eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. Kendall Hart added five rebounds and five assists. Rockhurst shot 30.4 percent from the field (21 of 69) and 12.9 percent from behind the
3-point line (four of 31).
