Unbeaten Hawks host Saint Mary Spires

Kendall Hart led the Hawks with 13 points against Saint Mary last year.
The Rockhurst Hawks (3-0) host the Saint Mary Spires (3-3) today at 2 p.m. for the fourth consecutive year. Saint Mary is a member of the NAIA's Heart of America Athletic Conference. The Hawks defeated Saint Mary, 70-39, last year at Rockhurst. Kendall Hart led the Hawks with 13 points.

Junior guard Mary Dineen leads the Hawks with an 18.7 scoring average. ineen ranks fourth in scoring, second in 3-point field goals made (3.0) and is tied for first in free throw percentage (1.000) in the GLVC. Dineen was named the GLVC Player of the Week after leading the Hawks to two wins last week. Senior forward Lauren Meyers is tied for 20th in scoring (12.3) and is tied for sixth in blocked shots (1.67) in the GLVC. Sophomore guard Jillian Myers leads the GLVC in assists/turnover ratio (16.0), and ranks second in steals (.467) and sixth in assists (5.33) in the GLVC. The Hawks lead the GLVC in assists/turnover ratio (1.62) and ranks second in the GLVC in free throw percentage (83.6).

Rockhurst improved its record to a 3-0 with a commanding 64-49 victory over Northwest Missouri State last Saturday at Mason-Halpin. Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 14 points, six rebounds and three steals. Lauren Meyers scored 14 points on five-of-10 shooting. Jillian Myers tallied 10 points, six rebounds and four steals. Haleigh Cindrich had a team-high eight rebounds and two blocks. Rockhurst shot 33.0 percent from the field (21 of 62) and 73.9 percent from the free-throw line (17 of 23).

The Spires are coming off a 69-57 victory over Southwestern College at home on Tuesday. Sophomore guard Kelsey Switzer paced Saint Mary with 20 points. Senior guard Imani Dixon leads the Spires in scoring (13.8) and rebounding (7.0). The Spires are averaging 59.3 points per game. Bruce Erickson is in his third season as the head coach at Saint Mary.
