Hawks move to 4-0 with win over Saint Mary

Mary Dineen scored 13 points to help the Hawks improve to 4-0.

Eleven different players found the scoring column to lead Rockhurst to a 71-53 victory over Saint Mary Friday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks (4-0) outscored Saint Mary 25-12 in the third period to take a 58-37 lead. Freshman forward Marisa Lowe and senior forward Lauren Meyers combined for five 3-pointers in the third period.

Lowe led the Hawks with 20 points. She connected on seven-of-nine shots, including five-of-seven 3-pointers. Mary Dineen posted 13 points and four rebounds. Meyers scored nine points on three-of-nine shooting. Jillian Myers tallied five steals, five rebounds and four assists. Haleigh Cindrich had a team-high nine rebounds and two blocks.

Rockhurst shot 38.2 percent from the field (26 of 68) and 70.0 percent from the free-throw line (seven of 10). Saint Mary made 18-of-49 field goals (36.7 percent) and 13-of-19 free throws (68.4 percent). Imani White paced the Spires with 12 points.

The Hawks play at Lincoln on Saturday.
