The Rockhurst Hawks received their ninth invitation to the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championships. Second-seeded Rockhurst (31-3) will meet seventh-seeded Saginaw Valley State (22-8) in a first-round match on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 11:00 a.m CST in the Midwest Regional at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. The Midwest Regional winner will advance to the Division II national quarterfinals, Dec. 10-12, in Tampa, Florida.

The Hawks are returning to the NCAA Championships for the second year in a row. Rockhurst has reached the regional finals six times between 1998 and 2014. The Hawks fell to Grand Valley State in the 2014 NCAA Midwest Region finals. Rockhurst also reached the regional finals in 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2005.

Four Rockhurst players rank among the top 10 in the GLVC.
Whitney Kostal leads the GLVC and ranks 12th in Division II in assists.
Preecy Seever is the conference leader and ranks third in Division II in blocks. Seever also ranks first in the GLVC and 11th in Division II in hitting percentage, in addition to ranking eighth in the GLVC in points.
Morgan Rietzke ranks sixth in the GLVC in kills. The Hawks lead the GLVC in blocks, assists, hitting percentage and opponents' hitting percentage.
