Hawks suffer 74-66 road loss at Bellarmine

Mary Dineen led the Hawks with a season-high 25 points.
Box Score Rockhurst opened the 2015 calendar year with a 74-66 loss to Bellarmine Friday night in Louisville, Ky. The loss drops the Hawks to 0-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Bellarmine used a 13-2 run to take a 51-41 lead with 9:24 left in the game. The Hawks missed seven consecutive field goals during the Knights' run. Rockhurst pulled within six, 62-56, at the 2:36 mark on a jumper by Kendall Hart. Bellarmine proceeded to score five unanswered points.

Mary Dineen led the Hawks with a season-high 25 points. She connected on eight-of-18 field goals and eight-of-nine free throws. Lauren Meyers posted 14 points, six rebounds and three steals. Hart tallied 14 points, five rebounds and two steals. Jillian Myers added five rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots.

Rockhurst shot 36.1 percent from the field (22 of 61) and 69.6 percent from the foul line (16 of 23). The Hawks, 6-4, play at Southern Indiana on Sunday, Jan. 4.
