Box Score Dominique Washington and
Joshua Brannon posted double-doubles to lead Rockhurst to a 94-89 victory over Missouri S&T Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.
Washington collected 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Brannon finished with a career-high 12 points and 11 rebounds. The pair combined for 18 points and 13 rebounds in the second half. Washington made 9-of-10 free throws in the final six and a half minutes, along with posting seven assists and three blocked shots.
John Burke scored a career-high 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting.
Russell Burns posted a season-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting, in addition to having nine rebounds and four assists.
The Hawks rallied from a 60-52 deficit at the 12:40 mark. Rockhurst regained the lead for good at 71-70 on a pair of free throws by Brannon with 6:04 left to play. The Hawks made three free throws in the final 10 seconds after the Miners pulled with within two points with 13 seconds left.
Rockhurst shot 53.3 percent from the field (32 of 60) and 71.4 percent from the free-throw line (25 of 35). S&T made 31-of-77 field goals (40.3 percent) and 17-of-27 free throws (63.0 percent).
