Outside shooting carries Parkside past Hawks

Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 21 points and three steals.
Box Score Wisconsin-Parkside connected on 11 three-point field goals, including hitting five treys in the final 11 minutes, to edge Rockhurst 70-66 Saturday in Somers, Wis.

Rockhurst led several times in the first 10 minutes of the second half. The Rangers took the lead for good at 50-48 with 8:23 left to play. The Hawks rallied to pull within 62-60 with 2:49 left before Parkside closed the game on an 8-4 run.

The Hawks controlled the paint (28-20) and points off turnovers (31-14), while scoring 12 second-chance points. Parkside shot 52.3 percent from the field (23 of 44) and 45.8 percent (11 of 24) on three-pointers.
 
Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 21 points and three steals. Her three-pointer tied the score at 31-all going into halftime. Dineen made six of 19 shots as the Rockhurst finished with a 42.1 shooting percentage (24 of 57). Lauren Meyers posted 10 points and four rebounds. Taylor Skala added six points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Rockhurst, 6-15 and 1-12 in the GLVC, returns home to host Illinois Springfield on Thursday night.
