Box Score Illinois Springfield converted on 28-of-34 free throws to hold on for a 63-60 victory over Rockhurst Thursday night at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House. The Prairie Stars survived a missed three-pointer by Mary Dineen in the closing seconds to win their sixth game of the season.

The Hawks outscored Springfield 24-15 over the final eight minutes. Dineen's three-pointer with 11 seconds left pulled the Hawks within one point (61-60) before the Prairie Stars buried two foul shots.

Dineen led the Hawks with 15 points and four assists. Taylor Skala added 12 points, seven steals, and seven rebounds. Becca Strobbe scored 12 points on four-of-eight shooting. The Hawks made 22 of 60 field goals (36.7 percent) and 11 of 14 free throws (78.6 percent).

Rockhurst, 6-16 and 1-13 in the GLVC, host McKendree on Saturday at 1 p.m.
