Box Score Junior guard Lauren Meyers scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Rockhurst to a 72-62 victory over 10th-ranked Pittsburg State in the Doubletree-Houlihans Thanksgiving Classic Saturday night at the O'Reilly Event Center in Springfield, Mo.

Meyers was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. She scored 18 points in the second half to help rally the Hawks from a 33-29 halftime deficit. Meyers shot 10-of-18 from the field, including hitting three 3-pointers.

Rockhurst shot 55.2 percent from the field while outscoring the Gorillas 43-29 in the second half. The Hawks outscored Pittsburg State 36-20 in the paint and outrebounded the Gorillas, 45-25.

Junior forward Laura Wilson posted 11 points and 11 rebounds to join Meyers on the All-Tournament Team. Jillian Myers finished with 14 points, five rebounds and four steals. Mary Dineen scored 11 points behind 5-of-5 foul shooting.

Rockhurst shot 47.4 percent from the field (27 of 57) and 76.5 percent from the foul line (13 of 17). The Hawks (3-2) return home to host Saint Mary Tuesday night.
