Box Score Rockhurst gave 16th-ranked Indianapolis a scare before falling to the Greyhounds, 76-66, Thursday night at UIndy's Nicoson Hall.
The Hawks pulled with five points of Indianapolis twice in the final two minutes. The Greyhounds ended the game on a 5-0 run on a layup and three free throws in the final 46 seconds.
Indianapolis jumped out to a 13-3 lead in the first three minutes. The Hawks went on a 13-2 run take a 16-15 lead. Indy used a 17-1 run to take a 32-18 lead and led 44-29 at halftime.
Rockhurst scored 10 unanswered points in the second half to pull within 60-55 with 10:19 left in the game. The Hawks were held without a field goal over the next seven minutes.
Becky Squiers came off the bench to score a career-high 14 points on five-of-seven shooting.
Mary Dineen finished with 14 points behind four three-point baskets.
Becca Strobbe scored all 10 of her points in the second half.
Kendall Hart posted nine points and two blocked shots.Â
Lauren Meyers led the Hawks with seven rebounds.
Taylor Skala fouled out with eight points, four assists and three steals.
The Hawks, 5-7 overall and 0-4 in the GLVC, play at Saint Joseph's on Saturday at 1 p.m.
