Dineen leads Rockhurst in loss to No. 16 Quincy

Freshman Mary Dineen scored 16 of her game-high 27 points in the first half as Rockhurst jumped out to an early 21-10 lead. Quincy rallied to take a 35-33 halftime lead.

Quincy scored the first 10 points of the second half to take a 45-33 lead with 17:32 left to play. Rockhurst went on a 15-6 run to get within three points, 51-48. Quincy outscored the Hawks 29-13 over the next 12 minutes to grab an 80-61 lead. Dineen scored seven points in the final two minutes as Rockhurst closed the game on a 15-6 run.

Dineen made seven-of-16 field goals and hit 11-of-11 at the free throw line. Kendall Hart collected 13 points and six rebounds. Becca Strobbe and Lauren Meyers both scored 11 points. Freshman Haleigh Cindrich posted a team-high eight rebounds.

Rockhurst shot 43.1 percent from the field on 28-of-65 shooting. Quincy made 28-of-54 field goals for 51.9 percent shooting.

The Hawks, 6-11 and 1-8 in the GLVC, play at Maryville on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
