Box Score Quincy held off Rockhurst in the final minute to post a 45-40 victory over the Hawks Saturday at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House. The loss drops Rockhurst to 4-9 in the conference standings going into a road game at Maryville on Thursday.
Rockhurst rallied from an 11-point deficit to tie the score at 33-33.
Melanie Siscos capped an 8-0 run with a layup with 5:35 left in the game. After Quincy scored the next six points,
Kara McFarland hit two free throws and
MaKayla Grahn drained a three-point to cut Quncy's lead to 39-38 with 1:15 left. Quincy went six-for-six at the foul line in the final 43 seconds.
Siscos led the Hawks with 14 points on six-of-nine shooting. Siscos scored 10 of Rockhurst's 25 points in the second half. McFarland posted eight points, six rebounds and three steals.
Rockhurst, 7-14 overall, shot 31. 9 percent from the field (15 of 47 field goals). Quincy, which led 24-15 at halftime, made 18-of-47 shots for 38.3 percent shooting.
