Outside shooting leads Maryville past Hawks

Kara McFarland scored a season-high 18 points.
Box Score Maryville knocked down 10 three-point field goals to lead the Sains to a 67-51 win over Rockhurst Thursday night in St. Louis, Mo. The win completed a season sweep for Maryville over the Hawks.

The Saints held Rockhurst to six field goals in the first half to take a 33-22 halftime lead. The Hawks pulled within four points with 13:25 left before Maryville went on a 14-3 run over the next three-and-a half minutes. Maryville also closed the game on a 6-0 run.

Kara McFarland led the Hawks with a season-high 18 points on seven-of-15 shooting from the field. She also collected five rebounds and three steals. Allison Streich posted six points and seven rebounds. Taylor Skala finished with five points, six rebounds and three steals. MaKayla Grahn added five points and six assists.

Rockhurst shot 30.5 percent from the field (18 of 59 field goals) and 66.7 percent from the foul line (12 of 18). The Hawks, 7-15 overall and 4-10 in the GLVC, play at Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
