Hawks meet Fort Hays State at Sprint Center

The Rockhurst Hawks meet the 25th-ranked Fort Hays State Tigers, 5-0, at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Sprint Center. Fort Hays State won their last meeting, 86-58, in Hays, Kansas in the 2004-05 season. The Hawks' last win over the Tigers was an 84-77 win at Rockhurst in the 2003-04 season. Fort Hays State leads the all-time series, 13-8.
 
Senior guard Brandon McCann leads the Hawks with a 19.8 scoring average. He ranks eighth in scoring, first in three-point field goals made (3.50 per game) and seventh in free-throw percentage (95.0) in the GLVC. McCann has scored 978 points in his career (11.9 points per game). He was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 17 after leading the Hawks to wins over Haskell and Lincoln. He scored a career-high 30 points in a 95-93 win at Lincoln on Nov. 13. McCann has made 174 three-point field goals over the past three-plus seasons.

Junior forward Liam Duffy is seventh in three-point field goals made (2.50) in the GLVC. Junior center Cooper Beckett ranks fifth in the GLVC in blocked shots (1.50 per game). The Hawks are third in the GLVC in three-point field goals made (8.75 per game) and fourth in free throw percentage (75.9) in the GLVC.

Rockhurst, 2-2,  is coming off a 79-70 loss at Washburn on Nov. 21. McCann led the Hawks with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. Senior guard James Robinson added 13 points, two assists and two steals.
