Box Score Washburn used a 24-3 run in the second half to carry the Ichabods to a 79-70 victory over Rockhurst Thursday night at Lee Arena in Topeka, Kan.

Rockhurst led by as many as six points in the first half as the Hawks took a 40-36 lead into the halftime break behind 56.3 percent shooting (18 of 32). Washburn held Rockhurst to 30 points and 28.1 percent shooting in the second half (9 of 32).


Brandon McCann posted 19 points, six rebounds and four assits to lead the Hawks. James Robinson tallied 13 points in his first start of the season. Russell Burns added nine points, six rebounds and four assits. Liam Duffy score nine points on three three-pointers.

Washburn held a 41-28 advantage on the glass and outscored the Hawks 38-16 in the paint.
 
Rockhurst, 2-2, will meet Fort Hays State on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Sprint Center.
