Rockhurst posts 67-50 win over Avila

Box Score Rockhurst scored the first 16 points of the game in rolling to a 67-50 victory over Avila Tuesday night at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House. The win moves the Hawks' record to 5-12 with nine games left in the season.

The Hawks jumped out to a 30-4 lead with 7:46 left in the first half. Avila rallied to cut Rockhurst's lead to 15 before going into the half trailing 38-19. The Eagles pulled within eight points with 5:30 left to play. The Hawks closed the game on an 11-2 run.

Melanie Siscos led the Hawks with a career-high 14 points. She made two three-pointers and drained all six of her free throws. Kara McFarland scored 13 points on five-of-eight shooting. MaKayla Grahn finished with eight points and five assists. Kendall Hart hit two three-pointer while scoring eight points. Taylor Skala added six points, three assists and two steals.

Rockhurst shot 55.3 percent from the field (21 of 38 field goals). Avila made 16-of-52 field goals (30.8 percent). The Hawks (2-7 in the GLVC)  host Missouri S&T on Thursday at 5:15 p.m.
