Hawks breeze past William Jewell

Sophomore guard Taylor Skala collected 12 points and six steals to lead Rockhurst to a 67-46 victory over William Jewell Monday at WJC's Mabee Center in Liberty, Mo.

The Hawks jumped out to a 35-18 halftime lead and pulled away in the second half. Rockhurst led by 31 points, 67-36, with 6:25 left to play. Rockhurst shot 46.7 percent from the field, while Jewell was held to 35.4 percent field goal shooting. The Hawks scored 19 points off 13 Jewell turnovers.

RU's Kara McFarland joined Skala in double figures with 11 points, along with posting six rebounds. Allison Streich collected nine points and five rebounds. Kendall Hart added nine points and MaKayla Grahn finished with a game-high seven assists.

The Hawks outrebounded Jewell, 38-27. The Hawks, 2-5 in the GLVC, play at Quincy on Thursday at 5:15 p.m.
