Hawks fall to USML at home

Missouri-St. Louis held Rockhurst without a field goal for 11 minutes in the second half on the way to a 70-46 victory over the Hawks Thursday night at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Tritons went on a 12-0 run in the second half to take a 14-point lead, 48-34, with 10:41 left in the game. UMSL scored its last 11 points at the free-throw line as the Tritons finished 31-of-36 at the foul line. Rockhurst connected on 15-of-21 free throws.

Kara McFarland led the Hawks with 15 points on seven-of-10 shooting from the field. Kendall Hart posted nine points and five rebounds. Lauren Meyers added eight points. MaKayla Grahn had a team-high five assists.

UMSL outrebounded Rockhurst, 48-23, while scoring 18 second chance points. The Hawks, 3-9 and 1-4 in the GLVC, host Maryvillle on Saturday.
