Paul Payton is in his first year as the athletics communications specialist at Rockhurst. He assists with the communications for all 22 athletic programs at Rockhurst.
Paul graduated from Wichita State in 2015 with a graduate degree in sports management. While at Wichita State, Paul was a graduate assistant in Wichita State Athletics' media relations department, overseeing athletics communications for cross country (2013 season), men's and women's tennis (2013-14 season) and softball (2015 season). He was also the communications manager for the 2014 and 2015 Kansas State High School Athletics Assocition (KSHSAA) Track and Field Championships, the 2015 KSHSAA 6A Basketball Tournament and the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Softball Tournament. Paul wrote two feature articles for the 2014 Shocker Sports Hall of Fame and assisted at home events for all of Wichita State's athletics programs.
Paul graduated from Kansas State University (K-State) with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He spent his last two years in K-State Athletics' athletics communications office and oversaw athletics communications for cross country in 2012. During his time in K-State Athletics, Paul also wrote four feature articles for the Big 12 Conference, assisted at home events for all of K-State's athletic programs and volunteered at the 2012 and 2013 Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournaments. Paul also took part in assisting at the 2012 Big 12 Track and Field Championships.Â
Paul lives in Shawnee, Kansas with his wife, Allison.
