John Dodderidge is in his 21st year in athletics communications at Rockhurst. He oversees communications for all 22 athletic programs at Rockhurst.
Dodderidge is a long-time member of the College Sports Communicators (CSC). He has served on the CSC Academic All-American Committee since 2006. He was the national coordinator for the Daktronics/CCA D2 All-American men's soccer team from 2006-15. He was the media coordinator at the 2016 and '17 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Soccer Championships. He also served two years on the Great Lakes Valley Conference Awards Committee. He is currently on the board of directors for the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).
John previously served as director of communications and editor of Sharing the Victory magazine for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Kansas City, Missouri for nine years. He was the sports editor of the Kansas City Kansan (Kansas City, Kansas) from 1986-90 and the Richardson Daily News (Richardson, Texas) in 1983-84, and was a sports writer for the Manhattan (KS) Mercury and Valley Morning Star in the Rio Grande Valley in south Texas. He covered the 1980 and '85 World Series; 1983 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament in Austin, Texas; 1984 Texas high school football playoffs in Dallas; 1986 NCAA Men's Basketball Midwest Regional in Kansas City; 1986 AFC playoffs in East Rutherford, New York; 1987 Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement in Canton, Ohio; and 1988 NCAA Men's Basketball Midwest Regional in Pontiac, Michigan and Final Four in Kansas City.
He graduated from Kansas State University with a journalism degree. He spent two years in college as the K-State Sports Correspondent for the Kansas City Star and Times. John ran sprints and hurdles on the K-State track and field team.
John lives in Lenexa, Kansas, with his wife, Tammy. They have two sons, Tim (Kansas, 2016, '19) and Andrew (Kansas State, 2019).
