Cole Bosley is in his second year as the Head Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach. Bosley is in charge of all operations, recruiting, social media, and training implementation for sprints, mid-distance, distance, and jumps. In Bosley's first year, the average GPA for the team was 3.66 and the team qualified 24 student-athletes to the indoor and outdoor GLVC conference championships. Going into his second year, Bosley recruited 17 new incoming student-athletes to join the Hawks.Â
Bosley is in his fourth year at Rockhurst. He assisted head coach Kathy Strecker for two years in recruiting, administrative duties and weekly training plans for the Hawks. In the last three years, there have been a total of 28 new all-time top 20 cross country performances with the men's and women's programs.
Before coming to Rockhurst, Bosley was a graduate assistant cross country and track coach at Long Beach State University in California for 18 months along with being a kinesiology teaching assistant. While a graduate assistant, the LBSU distance team had two new school records, and five All-Conference athletes at the Big West Championships. He also spent four years as an assistant track coach for the 365 Track Club where the team qualified over 30 athletes to the USATF and AAU national meets.
Bosley is a graduate of Emporia State University where he majored in psychology with a minor in coaching in 2019. He competed in cross country and track and field for the Hornets from 2015-18. While at Emporia State, Bosley was a part of the two-time Kansas Relays winning 4x800 teams in 2017 and 2018. He was also a part of the Drake Relays winning 4x800 team in 2018. Bosley was a multiple-time All-Conference runner in the MIAA and holds a personal best of 3:55 in the 1,500 meters that he ran in 2017 at the conference championships.
Graduating from Emporia State with a year left of eligibility, he moved to Long Beach, California to attend Long Beach State. While at LBSU, he obtained his master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology. His track and field season got cut short due to Covid, but in his last race he won the Beach Opener Track Meet 800 meters in a personal best of 1:53. Bosley is also a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach.
Bosley is from Wichita, Kansas where he went to Maize High School and was a two-time All-State runner. Bosley currently resides in Roeland Park, Kansas with his wife Jamie and two boxer dogs, Honey and Indigo.
