Favorite Cheer Stunt: Libs or baskets!
Cheer Highlights: I began cheer in fifth grade through a program at my school and continued after that through a competitive gym. I also cheered all four years of high school on the varsity team and was captain my senior year! We won multiple spirit awards at various camps and at competitions. My first year on the Rockhurst team, we qualified for Nationals and were awarded a spirit award as well.
Why Taylor Chose Rockhurst: I chose Rockhurst because I liked the tight-knit community feeling I’ve had since I arrived. Not having a big campus or giant class sizes allows you to get to know other peers and professors on a more personal level, and I felt that is exactly what I needed for my college experience!
What Taylor Loves About Rockhurst: My favorite things about Rockhurst are the friendships and opportunities that are available to me through the school.
What Taylor Loves About the Spirit Squad: I love being able to do something I enjoy with people who enjoy it too! Everyone is so fun, and I’ve loved getting to know all of my teammates! It’s nice getting involved in other on-campus events, like games or alumni weekend, outside of Greek life or other clubs! A majority of the team is new either to Rockhurst or to the team itself, so it’s a very welcoming environment because we’re all still learning stuff about each other! Melanie and Bailey are amazing people, great coaches, and very fit to get this program to its full potential! They’re both very skilled in their respective areas of Cheer or Dance and are always willing to help. They are also very open and receptive to anything a team member suggests about any aspect of the team!
