Hawks split doubleheader with Maryville

Claire Long and Taylor Sedam led Rockhurst to a 6-3 win against Maryville in game one of a doubleheader against Maryville on Friday at Loyola Park.

Game 1: Rockhurst 6, Maryville 3
Rockhurst scored one or more runs in the final four innings of the game. The Hawks recorded two runs in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth.
  • Sedam and Long combined for six hits and five RBI. One of Long's hits was her third home run of the season.
  • Eva Fulk collected two hits and a stolen base. 
  • Sedam and Jazmyne Moreno combined for six stolen bases (three each).
  • Avery Huffman tallied her seventh win and seventh complete game of the season, allowing two earned runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts.
Game 2: Maryville 16, Rockhurst 3 (5 inn.)
The Saints scored 12 runs in the fifth.
