Hawks fall short at Indianapolis, 65-61

Indianapolis overcame a large Rockhurst comeback in the second half to post a 65-61 victory over the Hawks Saturday in Indianapolis.

The Hawks rebounded from a 39-21 deficit in the third quarter to take a 53-52 lead with 4:14 left in the fourth quarter. Alivia McCulla capped the 32-13 run with a short jump shot.

UIndy closed the game on a 13-8 run as Rockhurst committed five turnovers in the final three minutes.

Keeley Steele led the Hawks with 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. She made five-of-nine 3-point field goals.

Macie Conway scored 15 points on five-of-12 shooting from the field. Lauren Sandstrom tallied 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks off the bench. McCulla added six points, six rebounds and two blocks.
