Outside shooting carries Saints past Hawks

Maryville connected on 14 three-pointers in pulling away in the second half for a 72-50 victory over Rockhurst Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Saints closed the third quarter on a 14-3 run to take a 52-36 lead. A three-pointer by Kayla Reis cut Maryville's lead to 52-42 with 8:30 left. The Saints proceeded to score the next 13 points to push their lead to 65-42 at the 5:33 mark.

Tori Miller led the Hawks with 14 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Miller scored 10 of her team's 29 first-half points.

Reis scored 11 points behind three 3-point field goals. Alivia McCulla posted nine points, six rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals.
