Women hit the road for two matches

Rockhurst women's soccer hits the road for two matches this week. First, Rockhurst takes on Davenport on Thursday in St. Louis, Missouri at 2 p.m. before beginning conference play at McKendree on Sunday at noon in Lebanon, Illinois.

Rockhurst opened the season last Friday afternoon at Bourke Field with a 3-1 win from two first-half goals by Caitlyn Smith and a second-half goal by Anna Lantz. Last Sunday afternoon, the Hawks fell to Missouri Southern 2-1 in Joplin, Missouri.

Davenport (0-1-1) opened their season with a 1-1 tie against Truman State last Thursday and fell 2-0 to Quincy last Saturday. Thursday's contest between Rockhurst and Davenport will be their first meeting.

McKendree (0-0-3) began their season with ties against Alabama Huntsville last Thursday, Saginaw Valley State last Sunday and Union University (Tenn.) this past Tuesday. The Bearcats lead the all-time series 8-7-1 over Rockhurst.

Most recently, Rockhurst fell to McKendree 3-2 on Sept. 15, 2024, at Bourke Field.
