Hawks fall to Drury in GLVC Tournament

The eighth-seeded Rockhurst softball team fell 5-2 to top-seeded Drury in their first game of the GLVC Tournament on Wednesday morning at the EastSide Centre in East Peoria, Illinois.

Drury scored two runs in the bottom of the first, two in the second and one in the sixth. The Hawks scored single runs in the fifth and sixth.

  • Claire Tipton hit a home run to left in the sixth, her sixth of the season.
  • Eva Fulk had an RBI single in the sixth and also stole a base, which was her team-leading 24th of the season.
  • Fulk, Mya Bristow and McKenna Lester each recorded two hits.
  • Avery Huffman pitched 5.1 innings and struck out five.

Rockhurst will face fourth-seeded McKendree in an elimination game at the GLVC Tournament on Thursday at 10 a.m.
