Ali Usama became RU's first GLVC swimming champion

Ali Usama made history at the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday in Elkhart, Indiana. Usama became the first GLVC swimming and diving champion in school history, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 19.78 seconds.

The Hawks wrapped up the second day of the GLVC Championships in seventh place with 155 points.

Tuesday/Wednesday Results:

Mohannad Nada scored seven points with an 18th place finish in the 200 individual medley (1:49.73).
Jacob Clink and Omar Mohsen finished 22nd and 24th in the 1000 freestyle in 9:42.27 and 9:44.44, respectively.
The relay team of Dakota Windsor, Nada, Adam Hamdy and Usama came in seventh place in the 200 medley relay (1:29.78).
Nada, Omar Abla, Mohsen and Klepper finished eighth in the 800 freestyle relay (6:46.50).
Clink, Ian Klapper, Alexandre Adum and Preston Hoang finished 19th in the 200 medley relay (1:33.90).
Adum, Clink, Hoang and Marc Jurkat placed 18th in the 800 freestyle relay (6:57.82).
