McCullough leads Hawks at KC Crown Classic

The Rockhurst women's swimming and diving team finished in second place with 817 points at the KC Crown Classic Saturday in Topeka, Kansas.

Highlights: 
  • Halle McCullough won the 100 breaststroke (1:02.99) and 200 breaststroke (2:17.59) and broke her own school records in both events.
  • Tauren Walz finished first in the 200 freestyle (1:55.65), third in the 100 butterfly (58.26) and third in the 200 individual medley (2:09.94).
  • Avery Walz won the 200 individual medley (2:09.04) and placed fourth in the 400 individual medley (4:39.47).
  • Liza Engelbrecht won the 100 butterfly (57.51), and took third in the 200 butterfly (2:13.88) and third in the 100 backstroke (58.38).
  • The 400 medley relay team broke the school record with a first-place finish in a time of 3:51.42.
  • Paige Sheridan took second in the 400 individual medley (4:35.02) and third in the 500 freestyle (5:07.88).
  • Anna Vicent Serrano placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:05.93) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:56.81).
  • Ava Hughbanks came in second in the 100 backstroke (58.27) and 200 backstroke (2:05.06), and placed fourth in the 200 freestyle (1:57.19).
