Balanced scoring leads Hawks in season opener

Rockhurst opened the season with an 82-20 victory over Central Christian College of the Bible Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks jumped out to a 37-10 halftime lead and outscored the Saints 45-10 in the second half.

Julia Wright led the Hawks with 15 points and five rebounds. Kayla Reis posted 13 points and five rebounds. Tori Miller tallied 13 points, three assists and three steals. Cristina Luquin collected a team-high 13 rebounds and scored five points.

Alivia McCulla finished with eight points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Averi Porter had a team-high nine assists. Ella Campbell scored nine points on three 3-pointers. Keeley Steele added eight points and six rebounds.
