William Jewell edges Hawks in dual meet

Ali Usama won the 50 and 100 freestyle races at Jewell

Ali Usama and Omar Mohsen led the Rockhurst men's swimming and diving team with two wins each as the Hawks fell 106-98 to crosstown rival William Jewell on Monday in Liberty, Missouri.

The Hawks won seven events, collected three second-place finishes and recorded three third-place finishes.

Highlights:

Usama won the 50 freestyle (22.94) and 100 freestyle (51.49).
Mohsen won the 200 freestyle (1:54.71) and 400 freestyle (4:09.83).
Mohannad Nada won the 200 individual medley (2:06.35) and came in second in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.74).
The team of Dakota Windsor, Nada, Adam Hamdy and Preston Hoang won the 200 medley relay (1:44.49).
Hamdy and Jacob Clink collected second-place finishes in the 50 freestyle (23.94) and 800 freestyle (8:50.05).
Omar Abla came in third in the 100 freestyle (53.66) and fourth in the 200 freestyle (1:58.90).
Ian Klapper placed third in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.13) and fourth in the 200 individual medley (2:10.82).
Alexandre Adum collected third place in the 200 butterfly (2:12.23).
The team of Usama, Mohsen, Hoang and Hamdy won the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.88).
