Anna Newcomer and Avery Huffman combined on a seven-hit shutout to lead Rockhurst to a 3-0 victory over Missouri-St. Louis in the second game of a GLVC softball doubleheader Sunday at Loyola Park.

Newcomer pitched the first 6.2 innings to get her first win of the season. Huffman came in to get a strikeout for the final out of the game.

The Hawks scored two runs in the first inning on a wild pitch and a passed ball. Rockhurst added another run in the second on a run-scoring single by Jayla Pierce.

The Tritons won the first game, 8-5, while collecting 18 hits. The Tritons scored five runs in the sixth to rally from a 3-2 deficit.

Maya Gallagher led the Hawks with three hits and an RBI double. Kerstyn Finch hit a solo homer to center in the first. Cheyenne Minnick had drove in a run in the first with a single.
