Sullivan scores 33 in road loss at UIS

Illinois Springfield pulled away down the stretch to record an 84-74 victory over Rockhurst Saturday on the UIS campus.

The Prairie Stars closed the game on an 18-10 run after the Hawks pulled within two points, 66-64, with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Keegan Sullivan led the Hawks with a career-high 33 points on 12-of-18 shooting. The senior forward also posted eight rebounds, five steals and three assists.

Macie Conway scored 14 points on seven-of-11 shooting. Rebeca Garcia tallied eight points and five steals. Ali Kamies added seven points and four rebounds.

Rockhurst (11-8, 8-7 GLVC) shot 46.0 percent from the field (29-of-63) and 76.5 percent from the foul line (13-of-17).

Springfield (12-9, 10-5 GLVC) made 26-of-50 field goals (52.0 percent) and 25-of-32 from the foul line (78.1 percent). Liz Uhl led the Prairie Stars with 25 points.

The Hawks return home to host Drury on Thursday.
