The Rockhurst women's swimming and diving team competed at the Eagle Invitational in Edmond, Oklahoma from Nov. 15-17 and finished fourth with 591 points. Rockhurst recorded two wins, two second-place finishes, two third-place finishes and broke several school records.
Eagle Invitational Highlights:
- Laetitia Bouc took home the 200 butterfly crown with a time of 2:08.16.
- Avery Walz won the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:35.23 and Paige Sheridan took third with a time of 4:36.79. Walz's time broke a school record.
- Sheridan placed second in the 1,650 free with a time of 17:39.13, setting a new school record.
- The relay team of Liza Engelbrecht, Avery Walz, Tauren Walz and and Reese Moore swam to a second-place finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:35.54.
- Engelbrecht finished third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.95.
- Chiara Ambrosi set a school record when she took third in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:07.49.
- Avery Walz's time of 2:08.91 during the 200 individual medley final set a new school record. She previously broke the record earlier at the meet with a time of 2:09.94 in the 200 IM prelims.
- Bouc's time of 1:56.64 in the 200 free was not only a personal best, but also a new school record.
- A new school record was set with Avery Walz's time of 1:06.94 in the 100 breaststroke.
Rockhurst returns to the pool on Saturday, Dec. 7 when they take on Kansas in a dual meet in Lawrence, Kansas at 1 p.m.
