Relay teams lead Hawks to second place at Drury

Mohannad Nada won the 200 breaststroke

The Rockhurst men's swimming and diving team finished second with 722 points at the Drury Invitational in the two-day event in Springfield, Missouri. The Hawks finished second during both days of competition, scoring 227 points on day one and 495 points on day two.

Rockhurst also posted one first-place finish, two second-place finishes, four third-place finishes and set three new school records at the Drury Invitational.

Day 1 Highlights

The team of Mohannad Nada, Omar Abla, Ali Usama and Adam Hamdy finished second and broke a school record with a time of 1:21.81 in the 200 freestyle relay.
Usama finished third in the 50 freestyle.
The Hawks came in second in the 400 medley relay with Usama, Nada, Hamdy and Nada.

Day 2 Highlights

Omar Mohsen broke the school record with a fourth-place finish in the 1,000 freestyle.
Hamdy and Usama placed third and fourth in the 100 butterfly.
In the 200 freestyle, Abla and Mohsen came in second and third.
Nada finished third and Ian Klapper took fourth in the 100 breaststroke.
The 800 freestyle relay team of Nada, Hamdy, Mohsen and Abla came in first place while breaking a school record.
Nada won the 200 breaststroke, followed by Klapper in second place.
JJ Davis came in second place in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.

The Hawks return to the pool this weekend at the Eagle Invitational in Edmond, Oklahoma.
