Women defeat Jewell at WJC Tri-Meet

The women defeated William Jewell, 101-98
The Rockhurst women's swimming and diving team defeated William Jewell,101-98, while falling short against Missouri-St. Louis, 115-83, at the William Jewell College Tri-Meet in Liberty, Missouri on Friday.

Rockhurst took home seven individual second-place finishes and five individual third-place finishes during Friday's meet. The Hawks also finished second as a relay team in the 200-meter freestyle relay and third in the 200-meter medley relay.

Paige Sheridan came in second in the 800 freestyle and the 400 free. Laeticia Bouc finished second in the 200 freestyle and the 200 butterfly, while Avery Walz brought home second in the 400 individual medley and the 200 breaststroke.

In the 200 backstroke, Liza Engelbrecht finished second and also took third in the 50 freestyle. Yara Elkoush placed third in the 400 individual medley and the 400 freestyle. Tauren Walz came in third in the 200 butterfly.

The team of Reese Moore, Tauren Walz, Sheridan and Bennett took second in the women's 200 freestyle relay. Engelbrecht, Avery Walz, Bouc and Reese Moore finished third in the 200 medley relay.

The Hawks head to the Drury Invitational on Nov. 8-9 in Springfield, Missouri.
