RU women shuts out Truman State, 2-0

First-half goals by Jacie Tottleben and Anna Lantz gave Rockhurst a 2-0 shutout win over Truman State on Friday afternoon in Kirksville, Missouri.

Friday's win is Rockhurst's sixth win a row and the fourth consecutive shutout. The Hawks' current winning streak is the longest since they began the 2019 season 7-0.

The Hawks' current four-match shutout streak is the longest since the end of the 2016 season when the Hawks posted three-straight to end the regular season and added two more in the GLVC Tournament to earn an appearance in the GLVC Tournament Championship.

In the 16th minute, Tottleben scored from close-range to the upper left of the goal to start the scoring in Friday's match. Lantz extended the Rockhurst lead to what would become the final 2-0 final score in the 34th minute with her goal from 12 yards out.

The Hawks (8-4, 6-2 GLVC) took 16 shots while only allowing four shots by the Bulldogs (3-4-3, 2-3-2). Rockhurst had nine shots in the first half and seven in the second half.

Lantz and Elizabeth Mertzlufft led the Hawks with four shots each. Taylor James recorded two saves for Rockhurst.

The Hawks will complete their two-game road trip against Quincy on Sunday afternoon in Quincy, Illinois at noon. Live stats and live video will be available. Check the Rockhurst website for the links.
