Rockhurst earns 166 D2 ADA Academic Achievement honors

Rockhurst ranked first among GLVC schools with 166 honorees.
Rockhurst University had 166 student-athletes earn Division 2 Athletics Director Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Awards for the 2022-23 academic year, the organization announced this week.

The Academic Achievement Award is a program that recognizes academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the NCAA Division II level.

"We are proud of our student-athlete's accomplishments and standards of success in the classroom. A strong academic focus has always been a foundation of Rockhurst Athletics. These student-athletes continue to live out our mission," said RU Director of Athletics Kristy Bayer.

Rockhurst ranked first among Great Lakes Valley Conference schools while ranking 14th overall among all Division II schools. Women's Soccer led the way for the Hawks with 29 honorees followed closely by Men's Soccer with 21 recipients.
 
In total, there were a record-breaking 19,646 student-athletes from 196 institutions recognized for the 2022-23 Academic Achievement Awards. This is the most student-athletes being recognized since the inception of the award's program.

To be eligible for the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, must have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work, and must have been a member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.

Since the inception of the award's program in 2007-08, there has been a total of 147,604 student-athlete nominees recognized for their academic achievements at the Division II level.
