The Rockhurst softball team took over third place in the GLVC standings after posting 4-2 and 7-4 wins over William Jewell Saturday in Liberty, Missouri. Rockhurst increased its lead to 10-3 in the Kansas City Crown series with Jewell.

Game One: RU 6, William Jewell 4

The Hawks scored two runs in the seventh to break a 4-4 tie. Allison Shakiba broke the tie with an RBI single.

Calli Wibbenmeyer hit a solo home run in the second.
Riley McGovern's RBI single gave the Hawks a 2-1 lead in the second.
Anna Newcomer (3-6) shut down Jewell over the final two innings

Game Two: RU 7, William Jewell 4

Avery Huffman struck out 14 in six innings to win her fourth game of the season.

Wibbenmeyer and Jaden Santoni connected on two-run home runs to give the Hawks a 4-1 lead in the third inning.
Cheyenne Minnick tripled home a run and scored a run in the fifth.
Maya Gallagher and Gwen Bostick both went two-for-four at the plate.
