Rockhurst held off a late rally by Truman State to post a 53-44 victory over the Bulldogs Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.
Truman State went on a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter to try come back from a 47-32 deficit. The Hawks shot 100 percent from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter (6-of-6) and 93.8 percent in the game (15-of-16) to secure a victory.
Molly Hummel led the Hawks with 15 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Ali Kamies collected 13 points, four steals and three assists. Allison McFarren posted 10 points and three rebounds. Keegan Sullivan and Macie Conway combined for 14 points and 12 rebounds.
The Bulldogs connected on 13-of-46 shots from the field (28.3 percent). Alex Fanning led Truman State with 10 points.
