Women host William Jewell on Saturday

Macie Conway leads the Hawks with a 13.3 scoring average

The Rockhurst women's basketball team returns to conference play this week, playing at Southwest Baptist on Thursday (5:30 p.m.) and hosting William Jewell in a KC Crown rivalry game on Saturday (12 p.m.).

The Hawks (2-2, 2-1 GLVC) split two road games last week, winning at Missouri-St. Louis and falling at McKendree. Sophomore guard Macie Conway leads the team in scoring (13.3 per game).

Southwest Baptist (3-6, 0-3 GLVC) posted an 86-50 victory over Ozark Christian on Tuesday. Senior guard Kallyn Stumbo is averaging a team-high 10.0 points per game.

The Bearcats won the most recent meeting over the Hawks, 69-59, in Bolivar last January. SBU leads the all-time series, 6-4, since 2006.

William Jewell (2-6, 1-2 GLVC) is coming off a 71-66 loss at McKendree heading into a Thursday night game at Drury. Sophomore guard Ayden Shannon leads the Cardinals with a 17.3 scoring average.

The Hawks and Cardinals split their two meetings last year with Rockhurst winning at home, 76-48, last January. Jewell leads the all-time series, 17-14, since 2000.
