Women fall at Jewell in first-ever meet

The Rockhurst women's swimming and diving era began Friday at William Jewell. The Cardinals defeated the Hawks, 127-74, in RU's first-ever dual meet in Liberty, Missouri.

Laetitia Bouc and Yara Elkoush each posted an individual win and a second-place finish. Bouc won the 200-meter butterfly and took second in the 800-meter freestyle. Elkoush captured the 400-meter freestyle and came in second in the 200-meter butterfly.

Danielle Horst grabbed second-place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle races. Horst also swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay along with Bouc, I'yana Foster and Karsen Bennett.

Bennett finished second in the 200 freestyle and Olivia Kerr placed second in the 200 breaststroke. Ana Pinto collected a pair of thirds in the 400 individual medley and 200 breaststroke. Foster was a third-place finisher in the 50 and 100 freestyle races.

The Hawks will next face Nebraska-Omaha in a dual meet on Oct. 13.
