Rockhurst women capture Quincy Tri-Meet

Danielle Horst won the 50 and 100 freestyle races

The Rockhurst women's swimming and diving team brought home a first-place finish with 144 points in the Quincy Tri-Meet Saturday in Quincy, Illinois.

Rockhurst won nine individual races, in addition to capturing the 200-meter freestyle relay. Karsen Bennett led the Hawks with three individual wins. Laetitia Bouc and Danielle Horst each collected a pair of wins.

Bennett posted victories in the 200 and 200 freestyle races and the 200 backstroke. Bouc won the 1,000-meter freestyle and the 100-meter butterfly, and placed second in the 500 freestyle. Horst grabbed wins in the 50 and 100 freestyle races.

Yara Elkoush won the 200 butterfly and placed second in the 1,000 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Ana Pinto captured the 200 individual medley and posted third-place finishes in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

Olivia Kerr finished second in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley. I'yana Foster posted a pair of seconds in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke and a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle. Christin Schmidt added third-place finishes in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly.

Rockhurst will next compete at the Drury Invitational on Nov. 3-4.
