Rockhurst University had 169 student-athletes earn Division 2 Athletics Director Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Awards for the 2021-22 academic year, the organization announced this week.
The Academic Achievement Award is a program that recognizes academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the NCAA Division II level.
"We are very proud of the academic success of our student-athletes," said RU Director of Athletics Kristy Bayer. "Rockhurst Athletics continues to prioritize academics as a primary focus of the student-athlete experience. I also want to commend our coaches, athletic administrators, University support staff and faculty for helping us fulfill this mission."
Rockhurst ranked first among Great Lakes Valley Conference schools while ranking 14th overall among all Division II programs. Women's Soccer led the way for the Hawks with 21 honorees followed closely by Men's Soccer with 20 recipients.

In total, there were a record breaking 16,802Â student-athletes from 171Â institutions recognized for the 2021-22Â Academic Achievement Awards. This is the most student-athletes being recognized since the inception of the award's program.
To be eligible for the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, must have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work, and must have been a member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.
