Late surge lifts Lewis past Hawks, 76-68

Four players combined for 60 points and 20 rebounds to lead Lewis to a 76-68 victory over Rockhurst Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Flyers went on a 12-3 run in the fourth quarter to take a 72-61 lead with 2:43 left to play. The Hawks turned the ball over four times while hitting one-of-four shots in the five-minute run.

Rockhurst rallied from a 42-36 halftime deficit to take a 51-48 lead near the end of the third quarter. Molly Hummel scored 10 of the Hawks' 15 points in the third period.

Daly Sullivan led the Hawks with 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists. The senior guard went seven-of-19 from the field.

Hummel posted 13 points, six rebounds and three assists. Reagan Dodd tallied 10 points and nine rebounds. Keegan Sullivan scored 10 points and Rebeca Garcia added eight rebounds.

The Flyers made 28-of-58 shots from the field (48.3 percent). Lily Courier led Lewis with 17 points.
