The Rockhurst women's soccer season ended Sunday afternoon after falling to Missouri- St. Louis, 2-1, in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.
UMSL scored 10 minutes into the game and added another goal on a penalty kick in the 22nd minute to go up 2-0 at halftime.
Rockhurst broke into the scoring column late in the second half. Anna Lantz scored her ninth goal of the season in the 82nd minute to cut UMSL's lead to 2-1.
Lantz scored, from passes from Elle Kimball and Gabby Hennessy, on a shot from 18 yards out into the right back of the net.
Rockhurst finished with 21 shots and eight shots on goal. The Tritons posted 13 shots and eight shots on goal.
Lantz led the Hawks with five shots. Mallory Mumby added four shots, while Lizzo Rosenthal, Kimball, Greta Seal and Hennessy each tallied two shots. Taylor James posted six saves.
The Hawks, who won the GLVC regular season championship, finished the season with an 11-3-3 record.
