Rockhurst earns 14 Team Academic All-GLVC awards

The RU women's cross country team led the GLVC with a 3.78 team GPA.

Fourteen of Rockhurst's 15 athletic teams earned the 2020-21 Team Academic All-GLVC Award. The GLVC recognizes each team from member institutions that have maintained a 3.30 grade point average for the academic year. The total of 190 honorees is shy of last year's record-breaking total of 207, but well above the previous record from 2018-19 of 152.

The Hawks were led by their women's tennis team with a 3.86 GPA, followed by volleyball with a 3.82 GPA. The other 12 Rockhurst teams to receive the award were women's cross country (3.78), women's golf (3.70), men's golf (3.69), softball (3.69), women's lacrosse (3.67), women's soccer (3.66), women's basketball (3.63), men's tennis (3.56), men's cross country (3.52), men's soccer (3.41), baseball (3.38) and men's basketball (3.36)

Rockhurst posted the highest team GPA in the GLVC in volleyball and women's cross country, and tied for the highest team GPA in women's lacrosse. The Hawks finished with the second highest team GPA in the conference in softball and men's golf. The Rockhurst women's tennis, men's basketball and men's cross country teams posted the third highest team GPA in their respective sports in the GLVC.

Of the 190 honored programs, 128 came from women;s sports and 62 from the men's side.
