Hawks upset 20th-ranked Indianapolis in overtime

Box Score Olivia Schwarzen scored on a 35-yard free kick in the second overtime to give Rockhurst a 1-0 victory over 20th-ranked Indianapolis on Senior Day Sunday at Bourke Field.

Schwarzen's free kick went into the box and bounced over the Indy goalkeeper into the back right of the net. It was the second game-winning goal and third goal of the season for the freshman midfielder.

Rockhurst finished with 11 shots and four shots on goal. Hannah Byrne led the Hawks with three shots. Olivia Van Belle, Elle Guttmann and Schwarzen each had two shots. Megan Meyers collected 10 saves, four in the first half, five in the second half and two in the first overtime.

Indianapolis (8-2-1, 6-2-1 GLVC) posted 20 shots and 11 shots on goal. Taylor Peck led the Greyhounds with four shots.

The Hawks (4-8-2, 3-5-2 GLVC) play at Quincy on Friday.
