Hawks return to action for first time in 36 days

The Hawks had four games postponed due to Covid protocol.
The Rockhurst women's basketball team returns to action this week for the first time in 36 days. The Hawks were forced to postpone their first four games in January due to Covid protocol.

Coach Larry Park's team will play three home games in five days, beginning on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against Missouri S&T. The Hawks, 4-2, host Maryville on Saturday (1 p.m) and Southwest Baptist (5:30 p.m.).

Senior guard Daly Sullivan leads the Hawks in scoring (15.3 pg, 14th in GLVC), while junior forward Monika Faerber is the team leader in rebounding (8.3 pg, sixth in GLVC). Sophomore guard Jessina Rada ranks fifth in 3-point field goals made and seventh in 3-point field goal percentage in the GLVC.

Missouri S&T, 2-9, is coming off a 73-67 loss at home to William Jewell last Saturday. Junior guard Laura Rodriguez leads the Miners with a 15.5 scoring average. Junior center Alex Kerr is averaging 14.4 points and a league-high 11.3 rebounds per game.

The Hawks scored a 62-59 win over the Miners in Rolla last month. Rockhurst has won nine of the last 12 meetings with S&T.

Maryville, 5-5, plays at William Jewell Thursday night before facing the Hawks on Saturday. The Saints are led by sophomore guard Antoinette Mussorici, who ranks fifth in scoring (18.5 pg) in the GLVC.

The Hawks meet Southwest Baptist, 1-8, for the second time this season. Rockhurst won the first meeting, 73-49, in Bolivar in December. Senior guard Kyleigh Vaught leads the Bearcats in scoring (14.3 pg).
