Unbeaten Hawks host Truman State, Quincy

Senior co-captain Colleen Pikus is a four-year starter on defense for the Hawks.
The unbeaten Rockhurst women's soccer team will face two of their toughest tests of the season this weekend. The Hawks host Truman State at 5 p.m. on Friday and Quincy at noon on Sunday.

Truman State (1-1-1) posted its first win of the season with a 1-0 conference-opening victory over Quincy last Sunday. Truman keeper Beth Hopwood was named the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week after stopping 11 Quincy shots.

The Bulldogs were the favorite in the GLVC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Truman defeated the Hawks 3-2 in overtime last year to improve its all-time record to 15-2-2 against Rockhurst.

Quincy (1-2, 0-1 GLVC) was picked fourth in the GLVC preseason poll, one spot ahead of Rockhurst. Since 2010, Quincy holds a 6-5-3 advantage over Rockhurst. Last year's meeting in
Kansas City was a 3-1 decision in favor of Rockhurst.

Rockhurst (3-0, 1-0 GLVC) has outscored its opponents 10-4. The Leetch sisters, Jillian and McKenna, have each scored two goals, in addition to senior forward Stephanie Ostrander.

The Hawks received votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches Division II poll and were ranked third in the Midwest Regional coaches' poll behind Grand Valley and Ferris State.

Both matches will be streamed for free on the Great Lakes Valley Conference Sports Network (GLVCSN.com).
